Friday PM Tile Making
Fridays from 6pm-9pm

Session 1: April 26-June 14 (8-week course)
In this class taught by Pewabic Slip Casting Specialist/Tile Pressing Technician Josh Kochis, students will learn how Pewabic traditionally designs, fabricates, and glazes tiles. Sculpting, carving, and hand-painting will be covered, as well as mold-making for pressing tile.
Who should take this class?: This class is best suited for adults (18+) who have never worked with tile before or would like a refresher on their fundamentals!
Class includes:
- 3 hours of weekly instruction (during scheduled class time)
- Glazes, slips, underglazes, and firings
- A small studio shelf
- 3 open studio opportunities a week (schedule posted)
- The first 25 pounds of clay
Please note: Purchases are not transferable. No refund will be issued during the first week of class. The Pewabic Education Studio is under no obligation to reschedule classes that are canceled upon the closure of the facility due to inclement weather, power outages, misunderstanding of schedule, Covid shutdown, and/or personal schedule shifts. There is no guarantee that a make-up class will be offered. Classes will not be prorated to accommodate a missed class, nor will refunds be issued.
