Deb LaPlante’s pots are functional, reduction fired and made of porcelain. The forms are wheel thrown; some are altered. They are adorned using slip trail decoration with overglazes. Glazes are non-toxic, dishwasher, and microwave safe.
“I see my forms as blank canvases so I use an overall surface decoration using porcelain slips. Of course, form and function go hand in hand, in my opinion, so it’s a constant effort to create work that has special interest as well as function.” Deb LaPlante is from Manitou Beach, Michigan.
